Voices of the Light

Voices of the Light (Kolot Ha'Or in Hebrew) is a musical duo that was formed in 2010 by Taeryn Alexis and Natascha Kraus. The two met at Brit Ahm Messianic Synagogue (Pensacola FL) where Natascha was then praise and worship leader. Taeryn became inspired by Natascha's dynamic and powerful voice, and Natascha by Taeryn's musical skills and song-writing ability--Soon after Taeryn joined the praise and worship team at Brit Ahm, the two were co-writing and recording music together. Their two distinctly different styles and backgrounds create a very unique genre within the Messianic Hebrew Roots movement. Natascha was born and raised in Panama and adds Sephardic and Alt. Rock influences, while Taeryn adds Classical and Folk influences to the tunes.

As mentioned previously, Natascha grew up in Panama, while spending years in the US during periods of Social and Political unrest. Her parents, Rabbi and Rebitzen Kraus lead a Messianic Jewish Congregation in Panama and are very active in ministry in the Hispanic community. Natasha and her brother Ricardo, had their start in music ministry while leading music for their parent's congregation. Aside from singing, writing music, and playing guitar, Natascha's background is in Industrial Engineering. She now lives in Florida with her husband and three children. 

Taeryn grew up in the Northcentral part of the US, and has been writing music since she can remember. She started taking piano lessons at age 12, and by the time she graduated high school, had earned a piano scholarship to study music theory and composition at a University of Wisconsin. While in college, Tamrah joined a folk-rock band and gigged for extra money. She also spent time recording her music in the UK and was signed by a German-based record label. However, soon after this, Tamrah decided that her music would take a different direction. 

Both Taeryn and Natascha feel that their gifts were given by G-d for a reason and should be used to glorify Yeshua and to lead people to Him, both Jew and non-Jew alike. Taeryn now leads music at Brit Ahm Messianic Synagogue, and Natascha leads worship and sings within the community. Tamrah arranges, records, produces and sings back-up vocals, while Natascha leads with amazingly powerful and commanding vocals.
